Privacy Policy
Effective 14 October 2026
SamaSight is a set of vision-therapy practice games, currently in public beta. It is built and run by an independent developer. This page explains what data the app keeps, why, and what you can do about it. Questions: support@samasight.org.
The short version
- No ads, no advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, and we never sell your data.
- Your progress is saved on your device first. If you sign in, it is also saved to your account so it follows you to other devices.
- The camera feature (Gaze Lab) runs entirely on your device. Video never leaves it.
- You can ask us to delete your account and everything linked to it at any time.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google. Sign-in is handled by Google and Supabase.
- Profile and set-up: choices you make during set-up and in settings, such as your dominant eye, red/blue glasses orientation and calibration results. Some answers (for example, which conditions you are practising for) stay on your device only.
- Practice data: the games you play, scores, levels, settings, session timing, and a record of where and when you tapped during a session. This is what lets the app adjust difficulty and show your progress.
- Answers and messages: short check-in answers at the end of a game, and any feedback you send us.
- Specialist connection: if you link your account with an eye-care specialist, your practice data and any plan they set for you are shared with that specialist.
Practice data can describe how your eyes work. We treat it as health-related information: it is used only to run the app for you, your linked specialist, and to fix problems and improve the games.
Emails we send
- Account emails (sign-in codes, invites, security notices): always sent, because the account needs them.
- Practice reminders: a short email if you haven't practised for a few days, at most once a week, stopping after a month. On by default; turn them off in Settings → Emails or with the link in any reminder.
- SamaSight news: occasional updates, only if you turn it on in Settings → Emails. Every news email has an unsubscribe link.
Emails never contain your practice results; they link back to the app. If an email bounces or is marked as spam, we stop emailing that address.
Who can see it
- You.
- A specialist, only if you choose to link with them. You can unlink at any time.
- The developer, to run the beta, give support and fix problems.
We do not share your data with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Services we use
- Supabase: account sign-in and the database that stores your synced data.
- Google: "Sign in with Google", if you use it.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website and handles our email.
- jsDelivr: delivers the on-device face-tracking model used by Gaze Lab. Only the model is downloaded; nothing about you is sent.
- Resend: sends our emails (sign-in codes, reminders, news) and, if you opt in to news, keeps your address on that list.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete your account and all data linked to it at any time in the app: Settings → Account → Delete my account. It happens straight away. You can also email support@samasight.org from the address you sign in with; we delete it within 30 days and confirm by email. Details: Delete your account.
If an email to you bounced or was marked as spam, we keep only that address on a "do not email" list. Data saved only on your device is cleared when you delete in the app, or when you clear the app's site data or uninstall it.
Children
SamaSight is designed for adults. A child should use it only with a parent or guardian who sets it up and supervises.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date. For significant changes we will tell signed-in users in the app or by email.
